Guide

How Copymoar works. Set it up once — every account follows.

A plain-language walkthrough of the whole app: what Copymoar is, connecting each broker, building a copy group, the three copy modes, your risk limits, and running it on your own machine or hosted at your own URL.

FUTURES ONLY · TRADOVATE · NINJATRADER · PROJECTX · RITHMIC

01 · What it is

A futures trade copier that runs where you do.

Trade on one account — your leader — and Copymoar fills every other prop-firm account you own — your followers — the instant you do.

Copymoar is a desktop app for futures traders, not a website and not a shared cloud relay. Your orders and your broker logins live on your machine — or, on a hosted plan, on your own isolated engine at your own URL. Either way, nobody else's trades share your box.

It reacts to real broker fills, not guessed state. When you enter, exit, drag a stop, move a target or scale out, every follower does the same — across Tradovate, NinjaTrader, ProjectX and Rithmic at once, mixed freely in a single group.

  • One leader, many followers — unlimited follower accounts on every plan, across all four platforms.
  • Your whole book copies — entries, exits, stop-loss, take-profit, stop drags and partial fills, not just the entry.
  • Prop-firm-grade safety — reduce-only by design, no same-symbol hedging, per-account daily-loss lockouts.
  • Self-healing — if a connection drops it reconnects and reconciles every account against real fills.

Copymoar is futures-only trade-copying software. It doesn't give trading advice and isn't affiliated with any broker or prop firm. You're responsible for your own accounts, your firm's rules on copy trading, and your results.

02 · Connect your brokers

Add each account as a leader or a follower.

Open Accounts → Add account and pick your broker. Each account joins as either the leader you actually trade on, or a follower that copies it. Every broker connects a little differently.

T

Tradovate

One-click sign-in

Click Sign in with Tradovate and approve on Tradovate's own page — no API key, and no password ever stored by Copymoar. It reconnects on its own after that.

N

NinjaTrader

One-click sign-in

Same one-click flow using your NinjaTrader / Tradovate login — same company, same page. Give it a test run before you lean on it in size.

X

TopstepX & ProjectX

Username + API key

For TopstepX and other ProjectX prop firms, connect with your username and API key (create the key in your firm's web dashboard). The key is stored encrypted on your device and reconnects forever — no browser needed.

R

Rithmic

Username + password + system

Enter your Rithmic username and password and pick your system (the gateway your firm uses — ask them if you're unsure). No browser. Rithmic allows one live session per login, so don't run R | Trader on the same login at the same time.

If one login owns several accounts, Copymoar shows a picker so you choose which ones become rows — you can't add the same account twice.

03 · Build a copy group

A group is one leader plus the crew that follows it.

Open Mirrors → New group. From the moment a group is Active, its followers mirror the leader — entries, exits, stop and target moves, partials, reversals and flattens.

1

Name it and pick the leader

The leader is the account you actually trade. Everything the crew does is driven by its real fills.

2

Tick the followers & set each one's size

Each follower copies the leader's size × a multiplier matches, 0.5× is half, is double. Sizes round up to a whole contract (you can't trade a fraction of a future). Contract mode lets a follower trade micros while the leader trades minis. Stop and target prices copy exactly — sizing only changes the quantity.

3

Choose a copy mode

Pick how faithful the copy should be — Market only, Smart brackets or Exact mirror (see the next section). You can change it later; it takes effect on the next trade.

4

Turn it Active — and stop anytime

Flip the group Active and you're copying. Stop whenever you like: turn the group Off, hit Flatten on an account or the whole group, or use the global kill-switch to stop everything at once.

Three safety rails run on every group and can't be turned off: a follower can never hold the side opposite the leader (no hedging), Copymoar continuously trims any follower that drifts out of sync (it only ever reduces or closes, never opens on its own), and when the leader closes, the whole crew exits together.

04 · The three copy modes

Pick how faithful the copy should be.

Every group has one order-copying mode. It sets how followers copy the leader and how their protection is handled — and you choose it per group, so a small crew and a big fleet can each run the way that suits them.

01 · MARKET ONLY

Fill-for-fill, dead simple.

Followers enter and exit by market when the leader fills. No stop or target rests at the broker, so the app is the only protection if this machine or the connection drops. Simplest and lightest.

Best for very large crews or rapid-fire scalping.

02 · SMART BRACKETS

Your protection lives on every account.

Followers rest a protective stop and target natively at each broker and keep pace with the leader — tuned automatically to stay light on your broker's limits, so a big fleet doesn't outrun its pace. Drag your stop ten times fast and followers still land on the final level.

Best with 4+ follower accounts.

03 · EXACT MIRROR

The follower book is your book.

Followers mirror the leader's stop and target moves exactly, 1:1, live. Highest fidelity — what you see on the leader is what every account holds.

Best with 1–3 follower accounts.

Switching a live group to Market only cancels the followers' resting stops right away — from then on the app is their protection. Whatever you pick, exits always copy from the leader's fills.

05 · Risk limits & safety

Set your limits once — they deploy to every account.

Copymoar has its own risk manager. It watches every account against the limits you set on the Risk page and, on a breach, stops copying and flattens the account. On TopstepX and Tradovate prop accounts it can go further and push your daily loss limit to the broker itself.

Daily loss limit
Measured on today's realized + open P&L together (fees included where the broker reports them). Reach it and copying halts and the account is flattened.
Broker-side enforcement
Opt-in on TopstepX and Tradovate prop accounts: your daily loss limit is pushed to the broker itself, so it's enforced even if the app is closed or your machine dies mid-trade. A broker lock is strict by design — it closes any open position and can't be lifted early. On Rithmic and standard Tradovate, the app guards your limits itself.
Daily target
A profit goal for the day. Reach it and the account stops for the day — banking the win instead of giving it back.
On a breach
Halt first, then flatten. Once locked it stays locked until you unlock it yourself or the trading day resets at 5:00 PM Central. Locks and daily figures survive an app restart.
Trading Lockout
A manual "take a break" guard against revenge trading: flattens everything and blocks new entries on every account for a set time. Closing stays allowed, and the lock re-engages if you reopen the app.
Reduce-only by design
A copy action on a follower can close exposure but never reverse or over-fill it. No same-symbol hedging, ever — the rule prop firms care about.

Where your limits live matters. With broker-side enforcement on, your daily loss limit survives the app closing on TopstepX and Tradovate prop accounts. App-guarded limits — Rithmic and standard Tradovate — work only while Copymoar is running. And copying itself always stops when the app stops: that's what a hosted plan solves — it keeps the copier alive 24/7 and covers Rithmic. More on that next.

06 · Desktop vs hosted

Run it on your machine, or let us run it 24/7.

Same app, same unlimited accounts, all four brokers. The only question is where it runs. Broker-side limits survive the app closing — copying doesn't. Hosted keeps the copier alive 24/7, and covers the platforms the app has to guard itself, like Rithmic.

Pro runs the full desktop app on your machine — everything stays local. It copies and guards risk whenever the app is open.

Pro+ runs that same full app on our infrastructure around the clock, with your own dedicated IP. Your URL is the interface — every screen and control, from any browser. Elite is the same on a dedicated server that's 100% yours, plus priority support.

One copier engine per account — never two. Whether local or hosted, only one Copymoar engine should trade a given broker account; a second copier would double every position. You can open your hosted copier from as many devices as you like to watch and control it — those are monitors, not extra copiers. See the full plans on the pricing page.

07 · Quick answers

Questions traders ask.

Is Copymoar a cloud copier?

No. It's a real desktop app — your orders and broker logins live on your machine. If you want it running 24/7 without a PC, Pro+ and Elite run your own isolated engine on our infrastructure with a dedicated IP, at your own URL — not a shared multi-tenant relay.

Does it work with prop-firm accounts?

It's built for funded traders: reduce-only safety, no same-symbol hedging, and daily-loss limits on every account. It works with Tradovate, NinjaTrader, ProjectX-platform firms (like TopstepX) and Rithmic-platform firms. Always check your own firm's rules on copy trading — our prop-firm rules page collects what each firm says.

Do my risk limits work while the app is closed?

On TopstepX and Tradovate prop accounts — yes, if you turn on broker-side enforcement: your daily loss limit is pushed to the broker itself and holds even with the app closed. A broker lock closes any open position and can't be lifted early. On Rithmic and standard Tradovate, the app enforces your limits, so they only work while it's running. Copying always stops when the app stops — a hosted plan keeps the copier alive 24/7 and covers Rithmic.

Will it double my size if I run it on two machines?

Yes — two copiers on the same account both copy every trade, so every position doubles. Copymoar fires a loud alarm if it detects this. Rule of thumb: one copier engine per account. Opening your hosted copier from several devices to watch it is fine — those are monitors, not copiers.

What happens if my connection drops mid-trade?

The engine reconnects and reconciles every account against real broker state — positions are re-checked against fills, not guesses. On Pro+ and Elite your engine runs on hosted infrastructure, so your home connection doesn't matter.

My Rithmic account keeps disconnecting or says "login in use."

Rithmic allows one live session per login. Something else is on it — R | Trader, another app, or a second Copymoar row. Close the other session and press Connect. If you truly need two concurrent sessions, ask your firm for a separate credential.

What happens on a contract rollover?

Copymoar copies the exact contract the leader trades and translates it to each follower's broker spelling, so new orders on the new front month copy correctly. Manage the roll on the leader as usual, and verify your follower positions across it.
