A trade copier is one app that watches the account you trade — your leader — and instantly places the same trades on your other accounts, the followers. Most of the copiers a Mac trader finds are built for Windows, or run entirely in a browser. Copymoar is the uncommon one: a native Mac application that copies your entry, stop-loss, take-profit and partial exits to every futures account you own.
Native, and truly universal
Copymoar ships as a universal macOS binary. One download runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs — no Rosetta translation, no "this app is optimised for a different chip." It's a normal Mac app: it lives in your Applications folder, updates itself, and behaves the way you expect a Mac app to behave.
What "notarized by Apple" actually means
You'll see that Copymoar is notarized by Apple, and it's worth being precise about what that is — because plenty of software oversells it. Notarization is Apple's automated malware scan: Apple checks the app for known malware and confirms it's signed by an identified developer. When it passes, macOS Gatekeeper opens the app without the "unidentified developer" warning you get from unsigned downloads.
What it is not is an endorsement, a review, or a quality rating. Apple isn't vouching that the software is good — only that it passed the scan and is signed by a known developer. We'd rather tell you that plainly than let a badge imply something we haven't earned.
"Web tools work in Safari — why install anything?"
It's a fair question, and it's the real reason the app matters. Many copiers are just a website you open in a browser. With those, you type your broker logins into their site, and your trades route through a server everyone shares. That's a lot of trust to hand a web page.
With Copymoar's Mac app, your broker credentials stay on your own Mac. Orders go straight from your machine to your broker — your logins never sit on someone else's server. That single difference is why a native app exists at all.
Every platform, connected from your Mac
All four futures platforms connect straight from the Mac app — even mixed together in one setup:
- Tradovate — one-click Sign in with Tradovate on Tradovate's own page. No API key, no password stored.
- NinjaTrader — the same one-click sign-in, using your NinjaTrader / Tradovate login. The NinjaTrader desktop platform is Windows-only, but Copymoar connects to the account directly — so you can copy NinjaTrader accounts on a Mac without running NinjaTrader itself.
- TopstepX — connect with your username and API key; the account then reconnects on its own, no browser. See the TopstepX copier page.
- Rithmic — a direct username and password login, no browser. See the Rithmic copier page.
You get the same three ways to copy on every platform — Copy my stops & targets, Protective bracket, broker-friendly, and Just follow entries & exits — plus the funded-account safety rails: a daily-loss limit on every account, no holding a buy and a sell on the same market at once, and copies that can only ever reduce a position.
Setting it up on a Mac
Download the Mac app
Sign up and download the macOS build. One universal download runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel.
Open it
Because it's notarized, macOS Gatekeeper opens it without the unidentified-developer warning. Drag it to Applications and you're set.
Connect your accounts
Add each broker — Tradovate and NinjaTrader by sign-in, TopstepX by API key, Rithmic by username and password. Your credentials stay on your Mac.
Build a group and go live
Create a group, choose your leader, tick the followers with their sizing, and turn it Active.
Risk and staying on
Copymoar guards your daily-loss limit and daily target on every account while it's running, halting copying and flattening on a breach. On TopstepX and prop-firm Tradovate accounts you can hand the daily-loss limit to the broker itself, so it holds even if your Mac shuts down. For everything else, keep the app running — or let a hosted plan keep it copying and guarding around the clock.
Mac trade copier FAQ
Is Copymoar really a native Mac app?+
Yes. It's a notarized universal macOS binary that runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs — one download, no Rosetta.
What does Apple notarization mean?+
It's Apple's automated malware scan. Apple checks the app for known malware and confirms it's signed by an identified developer, so Gatekeeper opens it without a warning. It is not an endorsement or a quality rating — only that the app passed the scan and is signed.
Web copiers run in Safari — why install an app?+
A browser copier routes your broker logins through its shared server. With Copymoar's Mac app, your credentials stay on your own machine and orders go straight from your Mac to your broker — your logins never sit on someone else's server.
Can I copy NinjaTrader accounts on a Mac?+
Yes. Copymoar connects to NinjaTrader accounts directly through the Sign in flow, so you can copy them from a Mac without running the Windows-only NinjaTrader platform. More on the Tradovate & NinjaTrader page.
Can it run 24/7 without leaving my Mac on?+
Yes — the hosted plans (Pro+ and Elite) run your own private copy of the app around the clock at your own web address, so copying and risk keep going with your Mac closed. See pricing.
